Defensive and Tactical Courses

Ear plugs will be provided for all classes; however, students will need to bring suitable safety glasses. Safety glasses with indoor and outdoor lenses can be purchased for $25. Range fees will be included in class pricing.

Tactical Courses
For all tactical courses, students must provide: personal firearm, sturdy belt and holster, comfortable closed toed shoes, and safety glasses.  These courses are for students already familiar with their personal firearm.  Class size is limited to 5 students for a better instructor/student ratio. 

Tactical Rifle Basic: 4 Hour Course
Tactical Rifle Basic is for people who have experience with semi auto rifles, but want to take that to the next level.  This class involves shooting and moving, engaging multiple targets, shooting from multiple positions, reloading on the move, and practicing drills to build skills for more than stationary shooting. For this class, students will need a semi auto rifle and at least 3 magazines, as well as hearing and eye protection. Slings are highly recommended, but not required. This 4 hour class is limited to 5 students.


There are two options for the Tactical Rifle Basic class.  Students can provide ammo of any caliber and shoot paper targets for $300. Shooting 200 rounds of provided 5.56 frangible ammo at steel reactive targets is $400.

Defensive Courses

Defensive Pistol: 4 Hour Course
Proper gun handling, mindset, promote good habits, competent and confident, 4 hour course, run at outdoor range in north valley, consists of shooting and moving, drawing and firing, multiple target acquisition, situational awareness. This course is offered in 2 variations: paper or reactive steel targets. Paper target is $300, must provide 200 rounds of ammunition, steel is $400, student will be provided with 200 rounds of frangible ammunition.

Defensive Shotgun: 4 Hour Course
Defensive Shotgun is for a shooter who wants to keep a shotgun in the house to protect themselves and their families. This class involves minimal moving, but focuses on essential home defense skills instead.  Students will learn how to develop muscle memory for smoother loading, quickly acquire a reliable sight picture, shoot from cover, assess threats as well as practice shoot/no shoot scenarios. 


Students participating will need to provide their own shotgun/ammo as well as hearing and eye protection. Any gauge is allowed as long as the shooter can control the firearm. It is strongly recommended that the shotgun be pump or semi auto, but students are welcome to bring whatever shotgun they will be using for home defense.  However, please be aware that some of the instruction is exclusively for pump and semi auto shooters. This 4 hour class is limited to 5 students and is priced at $300.
